Workshop: Preferences and HTV Cards

Ever found yourself lacking confidence to answer the following questions about our preferential voting:

  • What is a 'preference deal'?
  • Can a party 'give away' my preferences to another candidate?
  • Why voting Independent is not a 'wasted vote'?
  • What is the significance of the how-to-vote cards handed out at voting centres?

Join our INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP to find out what happens when the polls close, how the ballots are counted and why it's so important for candidates to have volunteers staffing every voting centre.

This is a must-do session for anyone wanting to volunteer on election day and at the pre-poll centres.

The hub is open from 5, come for a chat, food & drink provided.

Please note: This educational workshop is organised and facilitated by Independent candidate for Forrest Dr Sue Chapman and her campaign team. We encourage campaign volunteers and supporters to attend, and warmly welcome other members of the community to join if they would like to learn about this important part of our democracy. All are welcome, regardless of current or former political affiliations.
